UK artists swept the board at European Cajun and Zydeco Awards.
The award ceremony was held at the 14th Raamsdonksveer International Cajun & Zydeco festival June 2006 .

The winners were:

Best Cajun band - Cajun Roosters (GB/D)
Best Zydeco band - Elvis Fontenot & the Sugar Bees (GB)

An independent expert jury from 4 countries
Ron Janssen (NL),
Steve & Lynne Lane (GB),
Jonathan Fischer (D)
and Jean Pierre Bruneau (F)
listened to 21 different CDs and chose: 
Best Cajun CD - Cajun Roosters : crank it up (GB/D)
Best Zydeco CD - Zyderythmics : White Hot Zydeco (GB)
Best Cajun Accordionplayer - Chris Hall (Zydecomotion, Bearcats, Cajun Roosters, R.Cajun, GB)
Best Zydeco Accordion player - Lil' Jim (Lil' Jims Deepzone Zydeco, GB)
Best Fiddler - Mitch Proctor (Bearcats, GB)

Special Awards:
Special Jury Award for Best traditional Cajun Album 2006 - Belisaire (F)
Special Festival Award to Jo van Strien and the Team of the Raamsdonksveer Festival
